Paul McCartney Invades _Jimmy Kimmel Live_

September 24, 2013

Paul McCartney took over Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and that means fans and viewers were witness to great television and music. Macca found himself everywhere last night, from appearing in the opening monologue to help Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo with Beatles trivia, to shutting down Hollywood Boulevard for a concert that included fifteen songs. In between, McCartney sat down with the host to discuss his years with The Beatles and Wings, his recurring nightmare, and other humorous topics. The Beatles bassist won over the crowd quickly, as he told stories about meeting Elvis Presley for the first time and traveling to Hollywood for the first time as a part of The Beatles. “A lot of screaming,” McCartney says when asked what he remember most.

After the interview, Sir Paul took to Hollywood Boulevard to perform songs from his new album New (available October 15)as well as old favorites from his expansive catalog. While only three cuts from New appeared in the setlist, McCartney relied mostly on older material, dedicated to the fans (some of which waited 10 hours for the front row) in the massive Hollywood Blvd crowd. Tonight, Jimmy Kimmel closes down Hollywood’s main drag once again for a performance from Justin Timberlake who is celebrating the release of his newest album The 20/20 Experience Part 2 of 2. Check out videos of “Lady Madonna” as well as McCartney’s interview.
