My Morning Jacket Cover Eagles of Death Metal’s “I Love You All the Time”

My Morning Jacket’s triumphant Beacon Theatre run may rank as some of the finest setlist writing since Pearl Jam’s Spectrum run in 2009, with the band working in the perfect blend of flow, bustouts and hits throughout the four-night stand.

One of the highlights came on the final night, as Jim James called for a moment of silence for the victims of the Paris attacks that included 89 killed and many others injured at an Eagles of Death Metal show. James asked the crowd for a moment of silence before launching into Eagles of Death Metal’s “I Love You All the Time.” The cover is significant because in a revealing and chilling interview with VICE, EODM members Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme vowed to donate the publishing rights to the song if it were covered and/or recorded by anyone else. The proceeds would go to the families of the victims of the attacks.
