Last night’s, Late Show with David Letterman was significant for many reasons, the first of course being that the host announced his retirement. The second, is the unique musical act booked on the show that night. Singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur was flanked by R.E.M’s Mike Mills (who totally scooped Dave’s announcement) and Peter Buck to perform a strong cover of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side.” Arthur is releasing a Lou Reed tribute album fittingly titled Lou, on May 13.
