Ryan Adams’ cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 is all the rage these days, even prompting others to offer their own cover (and then delete them after Lou Reed came to them in a dream to say so). Now, Portugal. The Man have chimed in as well, not with a Swift cover but rather one of the pop star’s earliest antagonists. In the spirit of wanting to cover “something good,” the Alaskan rockers took some time to offer up their cover of Kanye West’s “Amazing” from his landmark record 808’s & Heartbreak, which he will perform live in full tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. Kanye is playing 808s & Heartbreak at Hollywood Bowl tonight, if we were not in Marfa playing El Cosmico – Trans-Pescos Festival we would be there, one of our all time favorite records.
