Today the sad news came down that the legendary Leonard Nimoy, most famous for his role as Spock in Star Trek, passed away at the age of 83, according to The New York Times. Nimoy passed away in his home in Los Angeles and the cause of death is being reported as end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nimoy had been hospitalized earlier this week due to complications from the disease.

Along with his famed role in Star Trek and various other projects as a director, author, poet and more, some may be surprised to find out that Nimoy also released five albums throughout his life.

In his first two, he sang science-fiction themed songs as Spock and his final three featured popular folk songs of the era. Most notably, Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary” and Johnny Cash’s “I Walk the Line.” Listen to both recordings below.
