After several performances on Letterman and countless trailers, previews and clips, we finally have new music from Foo Fighters. “Something From Nothing,” the first single off their forthcoming record Sonic Highways is available to stream below. The song, which centers around the band’s time in Chicago, features references to Muddy Waters and several other Chicago musical landmarks. Producer Steve Albini, featured in the episode along with James Murphy, Buddy Guy and others, produced the track at his studio.

Sonic Highways, the HBO series, premieres October 17 and chronicles the making of the album which took the group to studios all around the country. At the end of each episode, the band will perform a new song from their album. Currently, the group is in the midst of a residency on Late Show with David Letterman where they have collaborated with Zac Brown, Heart and Tony Joe White.

Pre-orders for Sonic Highways are currently ongoing.
