Today marks the 47th birthday of Jay Z, one of the most successful hip hop artists of all time. Jay’s accomplishments speak for themselves, but he has a pair of unique collaborations on his resume that find him crossing paths with some of our favorite artists. 

One of the more notable came in 2004, when Jay jumped on stage with Phish in Coney Island during their two-night stint on their summer tour. The collaboration, which was ultimately documented in the band’s Live in Brooklyn release, included cuts of Jay’s hits “99 Problems” and “Big Pimpin’.”

Flash forward to 2012 at his own Made in America Festival, Jay found himself hopping on stage with headliners Pearl Jam for a quick rendition of “99 Problems” before the band got back to their set with Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”
