Before the Oklahoma City Thunder’s pivotal Game 6, it appears as if Thunder all-star Kevin Durant got some pregame advice from none other than The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne. Now, there are a few wonderful conclusions that can be drawn from this photo. The first, of course, is that Coyne grew up in Oklahoma City–obviously making him a fan.

The second is the timing of the photo, which comes just a day after The Oklahoman coined the nickname “Mr. Unreliable” for Durant following his late game missteps in the Grizzlies series. Clearly this is a show of solidarity from the OKC native. However, as you’ll see in the responses, Memphis will never welcome The Flaming Lips back.

Now if only there was a way to get Miley, Durant and Coyne all in the same place…..

Oh, and the it appears as if The Lips aren’t the only rockers pulling for the Thunder, as Matthew and Nathan Followill ventured into enemy territory in Memphis (along with Barry Switzer) to take in the game.
