Here’s Roughly 40 Minutes of “Chalk Dust Torture” and “The Moma Dance” from Phish’s SPAC Run

Rob Slater on July 5, 2016

Phish’s three night run at SPAC over the holiday weekend centered around two mega jams in “Chalk Dust Torture” on July 1 and an unsuspecting mega “Moma Dance” on July 3, both stretching well past the 15-minute mark and totaling around 40 minutes to mark two of the most expansive jams of the young summer thus far.

While “Chalk Dust” has received the treatment in recent years, the surprise here is in fact the “Moma,” seemingly relegated to the first set ever since Phish’s 2009 return in Hampton, VA. While there certainly isn’t anything wrong with that, seeing “Moma” pop up in the second set and get stretched out to the degree that it did is certainly encouraging for a Phish tour that quite honestly is off to a rather slow start in the improv department.

Watch both performances in lovely pro-shot HD video below.
