Happy Rosh Hashanah: Watch Phish Play “Avenu Malkenu”

Rob Slater on September 25, 2014

The Hebrew prayer written by (according to Trey) “Pete Rose and God” has found a home in the classic Phish composition “The Man Who Stepped into Yesterday” for the better part of the band’s nearly thirty-year career. This version of “Avenu Malkenu” from 1999 will undoubtedly sound funkier than the one you’ll likely hear in any synagogue around the world today.

For those celebrating, Happy Rosh Hashanah.
