Former NFL Player Steve Gleason Interviews Pearl Jam

Sunday on ESPN’s _NFL Countdown,_ former NFL player Steve Gleason got to sit down with his favorite band, Pearl Jam. Gleason played in the NFL for seven years, spending all of those years in New Orleans with the Saints. He is best known for his punt block during the Saints’ first game since Hurricane Katrina. In fact, a statue outside the stadium now stands to commemorate that moment.

Now, Gleason is battling ALS, leaving him trapped inside his own body. However, Gleason can communicate via a computer that forms sentences and speaks for him. Through that, he sat down with members of Pearl Jam to discuss their new album along with a one-on-one with a visibly emotional Eddie Vedder for the most revealing Vedder interview, possibly ever. (Spoiler: Vedder talks about his late father)
