Flea is Taking the Los Angeles Lakers’ Free Agency Troubles Very Personally

Rob Slater on July 2, 2015

The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling, to say the very, very least. The once proud franchise is slipping further and further into the grips of basketball irrelevancy with their latest series of free agent blunders. Couple that with an aging, overpaid superstar and an underwhelming supporting cast, and the Lakers are stuck in the mud with no signs of getting out.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, however, has remained loyal to the team, sticking by them during this dark period. A tough task for a superfan, but one that the bassist takes to heart, as you’ll see below. Flea saw a glimmer of hope in the team’s scheduled meetings with mega free agents LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMarcus Cousins. Well, the Lakers struck out on both (and others), and Flea took it personally. Take a look at his very public struggle below and Kobe, if you’re reading this, start playing nice with free agents, Flea’s sanity depends on it.

It started with a direct plea to LaMarcus.

@aldridge_12 come to the @lakers ! Us Fans will love you and support you with all our hearts. We will show you eternal gratitude!!!

Then Flea took a nap, and things were still unclear.

He’ll LITERALLY do anything, LA.

While waiting, Flea revealed that he gets along with Kobe Bryant. Making him the only person that gets along with Kobe Bryant.

And then the news comes down. Flea is hurt.

48 wins over two years. Carcass, indeed. Don’t envision what could’ve been, Flea. It’ll only make it hurt more.

🙁
