Pearl Jam continue to demonstrate why they rank as one of the best live acts in music in the history of this good planet. Last night, Eddie Vedder took some time out of the band’s first of two shows at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena to serenade a couple who reportedly got married during the show. In a fitting tribute, Vedder delivered an acoustic rendition of Tom Waits’ “Picture in a Frame.” 

This marks just the first performance of the song since August 2, 2007 when the band headlined he Vic Theater in Chicago at a special pre-Lollapalooza show. Eddie Vedder opened that show by playing a few solo tunes, the Waits cover being among them.
