Bruce Springsteen Turns 67 Today, So Let’s Watch the Final Encore of His Second Longest Show Ever

Rob Slater on September 23, 2016

Bruce Springsteen turns 67 today. Bruce Springsteen also very recently played his second longest show of his career, topping out at four hours and four minutes on September 7 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. These two things should not go together, but this is a guy they call The Boss, and so it is.

2016 has not been kind to legendary musicians. It’s taken Prince, Bowie, Lemmy and many others. But Bruce has flourished, with one of his absolute finest tours with the E Street Band taking place over the last month. Later this month, he’ll release his memoir Born to Run and yes, he’ll even get back on the road with the band in January for a jaunt through Australia and New Zealand.

Springsteen, and the E Street Band for that matter, are some of the finest performers of our time, and they flexed that muscle to max capacity over the last few weeks with marathon, record-breaking shows in New York and Philadelphia, capped by a four hour and four minute blowout in Philly. The show marked Springsteen’s second longest show ever, falling just short of the four hour and six minute triathlon in Helsinki, Finland in 2012.

Happy Birthday, Bruce. And why not, here’s to 67 more years.
