Broken Bells kicked off Beatles Week on _Late Show with David Letterman_ last night with a performance of “And I Love Her” featuring a little help from Ringo Starr. The trio played an inspired version of the _A Hard Day’s Night_ single from 1964 to begin the first of five Beatles-themed performances.

Since February 9 marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ famous appearance on _The Ed Sullivan Show,_ Letterman (the current occupant of Ed Sullivan Theater) is honoring that performance all week with a themed Beatles week that will include performances from Sting, Lenny Kravitz and The Flaming Lips with Sean Lennon. It is rumored that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will appear on Friday. The two recently shared the stage at the Grammy Awards.
