Best Dad Writes Best Late Note for Daughter After Attending Springsteen Show

Bruce Springsteen’s The River tour is currently sweeping through the Northeast and one upstate New York Dad will not let the opportunity pass to take his twelve-year old daughter to see The Boss, even if it’s on a school night.

As the NY Post reports, Patrick Pipino of Saratoga Springs was perfectly honest with daughter Isabelle’s tardiness to school following Springsteen’s show at Albany’s Times Union Center earlier this week. Pipino took both daughters, Isabelle and seven-year old Sarah. “Last night Isabelle was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and darned if he didn’t play for three and a half hours,” the proud Dad wrote. “This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late or miss school outright if God were to suddenly appear?” Fair point, sir.

The kicker? Mom knew NOTHING about it. ” “Ummm, so this just happened on the Boss’s blog ‘Backstreets.’ Followed by a pretty good chewing out from my wife, who is a teacher who knew nothing of my plans,” Pipino wrote on Facebook. “The odds of me being divorced by 5PM are 50:50.”

You go, Springsteen Dad.
