Audi Delivers Super Bowl’s Best Commercial with David Bowie Tribute
On a night where Mountain Dew introduced us to the walking, talking nightmare that is the PuppyMonkeyBaby and Doritos aired one of the more horrifying ultrasounds, Audi emerged as one of the companies to spend a few million dollars wisely, with a beautiful ad that paid homage to the late David Bowie.
Enter, a sad old man. Let’s call him Commander. Commander is depressed, not eating, and generally not well. But when he hops into the new Audi R8, he is transported back to that one time he flew to the stars and naturally, one of Bowie’s most gorgeous Ziggy Stardust cuts, “Starman,” takes the 60-second commercial to it’s climax.
