Allman Brothers Band Play Without Butch Trucks at the Beacon (A Gallery)

March 12, 2014

The Allman Brothers Band continued their annual Beacon run last night without the familiar contributions of drummer Butch Trucks, who Warren Haynes announced was feeling under the weather and would not perform. Nonetheless, Butch's nephew Duane filled in on the kit and the band carried on, delivering another entertaining show that featured a sit-in from The Juke Horns. Dino Perrucci was on hand to capture some images from the show.

Dickey Betts needs to be on the bill for the last night.

Dickey? Better chance getting the Pope to play Sax.

I was at the show.  The band never sounded tighter.  We all witnessed guitar vertuosity at its peak.  The horns were a special trest, adding thunder and lightning.  It it was the last time I heard the Brothers live, I couldn’t ask for more.  They left nothing on the table.
