A few months ago, I went to a small festival in Arkansas and heard a band called Bridge Road Caravan. I totally got into them. I have only been able to find one mp3 of theirs online and I am wondering if this is a band you (Relix) are aware of. I am dying to hear their stuff again. If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it.

Dear Relix,
I admit I do not peruse your mag on a monthly basis, but it has crossed my path many times before, and when it does I enjoy it greatly. Reading these posts has made me ill now. Not all of them, just the ones with the Holier than thou, pretentious, snide, callow remarks about bands such as Dave Matthews Band, Phish or Treys Anastasio's solo album. First off, do they have an album that inputs to the collective art form that is music? The answer is no they probably don't. Bashing success of talented people in the music community such as this goes against the principle of the musical family the groups involved have strived to build. You may as well go buy into the Starbucks/Gap Generation B.S. the radio is selling you and do it right if your going to be a snob. Don't be so half assed, and grow up. And as for you Relix, keep doing all that encompasses what you do! I understand that all are entitled to their opinion and that mine is no more valid than the next guys, but for crying out loud, some of the stuff I have read posted here is slanderous at the least. Well Relix, I think I have stood on this soap box long enough. It's someone else's turn so take care from the Big Blue Sea that the Navy has brought me to.

The show at Oakland Arena was "sweet." Now, on the other hand, the crowd acted like snobs, not like the Deadheads I remember. Even at my last show at Shoreline 6/3/1995 they were decent folks: hey, hello, handshake, etc. They acted like snobbish, distant trolls, very sad :{ !! I'm not God but I do miss a good thing. Maybe when they go to Shoreline or a nicer town the all-around energy will be better. Make tapes, not war. |

I understand the new hype in the jam band scene, the arguably biggest members of our family returns and at the same time one is taken away. What I don’t understand, is the sudden backlash on the Dave Matthews Band. DMB was for many years a driving force in the jamband scene. The graceful lyrics and smooth beats have introduced many people to our genre of music. Their scene and style is different now, but nevertheless they were implemental in the formation of the contemporary "jamband". They should be respected and appreciated by all. |
