Billy Capozzi poems 2/23/04 Print E-mail

There was a really talented poet named BILLY CAPOZZI who always gave out the "POEM OF THE DAY" at every Grateful Dead show from 1983 to 1995. I know that we all remember him because he was such a friendly cat who never missed a show. He is also the W. CAPOZZI from the "YOU DON'T NEED DOPE TO DANCE" stickers that the WHARFRATS sell. He's the lyricist for the ZEN TRICKSTERS, and, the lead singer in FINALLY BALANCED! Here's the thing. I'm putting together a book of all the poems, and I need everybodys help. Please make a copy of your BILLY CAPOZZI poem, and send it to the following address: BC

I know this may be a long shot, but I remember a poem written for Jerry Garcia in the 1990's that graced the back cover (an oxymoron) of Relix during one of his bouts with health-related problems. It started out like this: "you've life to live you've love to give you've an unsung song to sing" Ring a bell? I'd really love to send this to a friend.

Who's OM Trio and when will we hear about them in your magazine? I've got to be honest, OM Trio blew me away at the last show! Brian Felix on organ/keyboard is amazing. Did these guys slide under your radar? Please do a favor to all of your readers and interview and review these guys. There music bridges jazz , rock, drum and bass and many other sounds. Their spontaneous improvisational jams kept me on my toes literally (I was jumping into the air!) The OM Trio's website is www.omtrio.com they will be in New York, Friday, February 20th at the Bowery Ballroom when they open for Umphrey's McGee. Have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read this email.
