Hey there Steve!
I am a happenin' momma on the scene. I've been to my fair share of shows. I am 21 and I was fortunate enough to catch one Dead show, when I was 16. I am a really huge Phish and Panic phan. I've been to close to 100 Phish Shows and have seen Panic around 20 times. Not to mention all of the other jambands that I've seen i.e. moe., Hookah, MMW, Trey, Disco Biscuits etc. We are few and far between. But you must admit, we rule. We're the ladies that can hang with the fellas. I don't know if I made it in the first 20, but I have a feeling that you'll be surprised by the response that you receive. Thanks for listening to what I had to say. Kisses and Fluff-

A touch of gray? March 24, 2001 Print E-mail

I’ve been a subscriber since around 1992. I just received my first copy in the mail since “the change.” I want to toss in my two cents (or less). I hope that the main focus of the magazine will be the Grateful Dead and the taping scene, along with all the offshoot bands and advertising, since that is the reason I, and most others I’m sure, bought our very first issue. You should stick to your roots... the 1974 roots... the GOOD roots. I was shocked that it was even Relix when I got it because of the plain gray cover. I would’ve rather seen a picture of the band on stage! Sadly, the only Dead photos I saw were three small ones of Jerry (the Mamarazi.com advertisement). This first issue seems VERY corporate... as we read in some of the letters sent in from other readers. What happened to Toni? What happened to all the great photos from Rob Cohn and Stephen Dorian Miner and Susana Millman and Jon Weiner, etc. etc.? I will always love the magazine but I am worried it’s going Furthur a little too far. It was also sad that the only story about an actual band mate was about Bobby and his cooking sauces. Don’t the reviews and setlists matter? And Phil, Mickey, Vince, Starship, Phish, etc. Peace, love and light,

I had decided not to renew my subscription March 24, 2001 Print E-mail

I had decided not to renew my subscription after it ran out, but after reading the new issue I can say I'll be back. The new look and editorial content are excellent. I won't go into the things I disliked about the old Relix. Please include more on Weir and Hornsby. Just one note: "Buffet" (East on p. 13) has two "t"'s. By the way Buffett's version of UJB is a concert highlight. Keep up the good work.

I just got my new issue (Dead Vault Secrets) and although I was a little apprehensive going in without Toni involved, I must admit I was pretty impressed! I actually think the layout & pictures are better. Please keep supporting indie artists & labels. Keep the "Too New To Be Known" as well as "Indie Daze". Best of luck & keep up the great work!
