Dear Editor,
I read about Mother Jones in the December issue of Relix and went to go check them out in LA. Boy this band rocks! I am completely hooked and can't wait for them to play more shows. I cannot believe that this band isn't on everybody's radar in the area. Trying to make a "jam-friendly" environment in Southern California, especially Los Angeles of all places, is a very difficult thing to do and they should be commended with some major press coverage because I can only do so much in spreading the word.
Love your show,

How presumptuous that Phil imagines he could know what Jerry Garcia held in his heart.
More likely, Jerry hated his addiction, hated heroin but could not shake it. But to love the addiction/the heroin more than the Grateful Dead, more than the music, more than life? Perhaps that’s an easy out for Phil.
That’s not how we want to remember Jerry. He gave us too, too much to be that callous.
For shame Phil, and on national TV. We know in our hearts what significance Jerry and the Grateful Dead had, but to those folks watching 60 Minutes II who knew so little about him, what impression of Jerry did you leave with them? In our lives Jerry Garcia was love. |

Nat Keefe was right on when he said "You come to little wonderful pockets of this country-like High Sierra-and you think that we're in a good place. Then when you go to the rest of America, it's so fucked up." I think what he said could be the best way to describe the joy I have at a jam-festival. When attending IT this year, I was convinced that we are living in such an awesome place. On the way home when i stopped into a gas station, it was like a culture shock. I was like "woah, whats going on, what happened to the festival life. I often still reminisce about how awesome it was to be in a type of community for 3 days, where everyone is mostly kind to each other, laid back, just having a good time. It was special, and when i saw the extra-large SUV at the 7-11 with one person in it, I was flabbergasted.
