Video Premiere: Edward David Anderson “Firefly”

October 23, 2015

Edward David Anderson

In our recent review of Edward David Anderson‘s latest record, Lower Alabama: The Loxley Sessions, we wrote, “The leader of Backyard Tire Fire returns with his second solo album, another low-key stunner. Edward David Anderson’s plaintive tenor and acoustic guitar lay the foundation for nine tunes that delve deeply into loss, grief, mortality and the ultimate meaning of life without slipping into self-pity or cynicism.”

Today we premiere his video for “Firefly” from the record. Anderson tells Relix, “I wrote this tune over 20 years ago and sort of rediscovered it shortly before going in to the studio with Anthony Crawford. It’s actually one of the first songs I penned that I thought was good enough to play in front of people. The video was shot on and around the Happy Farm in rural Saybrook, IL.”

Anderson is currently on tour in support of Lower Alabama: The Loxley Sessions and his upcoming dates appear below the video.
