Song Premiere: Greensky Bluegrass “Living Over”

September 9, 2016

On September 23 Greensky Bluegrass will release their next studio album, via their own Big Blue Zoo Records/Thirty Tigers. The group recorded Shouted, Written Down & Quoted, the follow-up to 2014’s If Sorrows Swim, at both Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville, NC and the Mountain House Recording Studio in Nederland, CO. Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin (String Cheese Incident, Deer Tick, Jackie Greene) produced the record which is now available for pre-order. Today we premiere “Living Over” from the forthcoming album.

The group’s Paul Hoffman reflects, “When you make music that is intended for improvisation and open musical moments, it can be challenging to capture in the studio. Setting out to record ‘Living Over’ we arranged a plan and just let the music take us, and the result is one of my favorite Greensky studio pieces ever. The tones, the energy, and the harmonies all came out so great. I’m really proud of this tune and continuously look forward to playing it. This mess that I insist to write.”

Greensky Bluegrass will support the new record with a national tour, with their upcoming dates listed below the stream.
