Yo La Tengo will ring in 2009 at Montclair, NJ’s brand-new concert venue, the Wellmont Theatre. The Feelies have been confirmed to open the show, Yo La Tengo’s first at the new Bowery Presents-promoted room. The performance will be the New Jersey trio’s first New Year's performance since 2005 when New Year’s Eve coincided with the group’s annual Chanukah performances at Hoboken, NJ’s nearby Maxwell’s. There is currently no word on whether or not Yo La Tengo will host its Chanukah shows this winter.

For many months, Yo La Tengo was rumored to open for My Morning Jacket at New York’s Madison Square Garden on New Year’s Eve. Last year, My Morning Jacket singer Jim James sat in with Yo La Tengo during its annual holiday run. Please visit www.yolatengo.com.
