Willie Nelson will release his next studio album , Moment of Forever, on January 29. Similar
to his 2006 release Songbird, Moment of
Forever is primarily a collection of covers, ranging from classics to
modern hits. In addition to the Nelson originals “Over You Again,” “You Don't
Think I'm Funny Anymore” and “Always Now,” the album includes takes on “Moment
of Forever” (Kris Kristofferson), “The Bob Song” (Kenny Alphin), “Louisiana”
(Randy Newman), “Gravedigger” (Dave Matthews), “Keep Me From Blowing Away”
(Paul Craft), “Takin' on Water” (Dave Loggins), “I'm Alive” (Kenny Chesney), “When
I Was Young And Grandma Wasn't Old” (Buddy Cannon),
“Worry B Gone" (Guy Clark) and “Gotta Serve Somebody” (Bob Dylan). In an
odd turn of events, Nelson has decided to release his cover of Matthews’ “Gravedigger,”
which was originally released in 2003, as his first single. Matthews and Nelson
sit together on the Farm Aid Board of Directors. The country legend will appear
at Tallahassee, FL’s The Moon this evening.
