Wilco has set May 15 as the release date for its new album, Sky Blue Sky. The album, recorded for Nonesuch, is the group’s first studio release since 2004’s A Ghost is Born and it’s first since reaching rock-star status. Veteran New York guitarist Jim O’Rourke is expected to contribute to the album in a production capacity. A number of the group’s new songs, including "On and On and On" and "Walken," have been part of Wilco’s live repertoire for the past two years. Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy is currently in the middle of a solo tour, which features acoustic versions of Wilco staples. The singer/songwriter will perform at Tulsa, OK’s Cain’s Ballroom tonight. On Tuesday bassist John Stirratt and multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone also released a self-titled studio album under the moniker the Autumn Defence. The pair will launch a club tour February 8 at St. Louis, MOs The Duck Room.
