It is a far cry from his days playing the Wetlands for pocket change, but Dave Matthews has reportedly netted a seven-figure deal to be part of an East Hampton, NY summer concert series called Social. Tickets for the five-week series cost $15,000 and include performances by Matthews, Prince, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Joel and James Taylor. In addition to an intimate performance, the ticket includes dinner by celebrity chefs, visual displays by a variety of internationally known artists and free parking.

Approximately 1,000 tickets will be sold for the event and patrons will be able to take in the performances while relaxing on daybeds, ottomans and Moroccan pillows. The concerts will take place on a football field located at East Hampton's Ross School. While the admission price for each show seems astronomical, the Social's promoters are quick to point out that front-row seats for similar arena-size marquee acts are not much more expensive. Also, several festivals, including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Sasquatch, offer VIP packages which hover around the $500 mark.
