Trey Anastasio will be arraigned by Judge Kelly McKeighan
Tuesday in a Washington County Court on an indictment charging him with felony
and misdemeanor drug possession counts. The arraignment proceeding will take place
at 3PM EST.
Anastasio is expected to plea bargain and enter a rehab program according to Pollstar.
As previously reported, Anastasio was arrested on December 15 after driving
erratically in Whitehall, NY. Police found a packet of heroin and a
bottle containing about 60 prescription pain-killers and an anti-anxiety drug
on the guitarist. On February 9, Anastasio spoke with Anthony DeCurtis about
his drug problems and admitted to being in rehab. According to Pollstar, county
officials said there was a delay in scheduling the proceeding because Anastasio was in the Caribbean
for several weeks after his January 3 arraignment. It is believed that
Anastasio was attending a rehab program in the Caribbean.
If convicted Anastasio, could serve possible jail time.
