After several months of speculation, Ween has released some
new information concerning its long awaited studio album. The group has recently
finished a batch of new songs and tapped producer Andrew Weiss for its forthcoming sessions. In addition, the group is currently
in discussions with a number of labels, though Ween plans to continue writing for
the foreseeable future. On Philadelphia’s
WXPN, Dean and Gene Ween previewed one of their newest songs, “D.C.
Won't Do You No Good,” as part of longtime friend Chris Harford’s on-air set
with his Band of changes. “As far as gigs go, we've been getting offers (way in
advance) for next year's festivals, but we wanna be a little conservative about
how much we play before the new album is out,” Dean Ween says. “We'll wanna do
a proper world tour when the record comes out next year. In the meantime, keep
an eye out for those impromptu local shows that we inevitably do when we're
trying out new material live.”
