Lauded Beatles tribute act The Fab Faux will celebrate their
tenth anniversary with a performance at New York’s
Radio City Music Hall
on September 20. The gig arrives just a few days after the group appears on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on
September 12. For its tenth anniversary concert, the quintet will focus on The
Beatles' psychedelic period, specifically the years 1966-1968. In that short
span of time The Beatles helped stretch the boundaries of pop-rock, thanks to
singles like "Paperback Writer"/"Rain" and "All You Need is Love," as well as
classic albums like Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Yellow Submarine and The Magical
Mystery Tour.
The show is most high-profile New York appearance for the Fab Faux, who
recently sold-out the Beacon Theater with a tribute to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The group features a number of familiar faces, including Will
Lee (Late Show with David Letterman), Jimmy
Vivino (Late Night with Conan O’Brien),
Rich Pagano (Rosanne Cash/Ray Davies), Jack Petruzzelli (Joan Osborne/Rufus
Wainwright) and Frank Agnello (Phoebe Snow/Marshall Crenshaw). With Vivino scheduled
to move to Los Angeles
when Conan O’Brien takes over The Tonight Show next year, The Fab Faux will likely tour less frequently in the foreseeable future.
The group’s next show will take place at San Diego, CA’s
Spreckels Theatre on June 7. Looking ahead, The Fab Faux will also perform the “White
Album at Philadelphia’s
Keswick Theatre on October 25.
