As in years past, the Disco Biscuits’ annual Camp Bisco
festival will mix and match acts from the jam and electronica scenes. But, for
the first time, the Disco Biscuits will perform three shows at this year’s
festivities, which are scheduled to take place from August 16-18. Now in its
sixth year, the veteran festival has also graduated to Mariaville,
NY’s larger Indian Lookout Country Club, which
has hosted Grateful Dead-family events like Gathering of the Vibes and Max Creek’s
Camp Creek. In addition to its namesake, the 2007 edition of Camp Bisco
will also feature rising jam-stars like Umphrey’s McGee, Zilla, and EOTO. Camp Bisco
will also offer a stacked version of the revolving group The Join, featuring
the New Deal’s Jamie Shields and Darren Shearer and Brothers Past’s Tom
Hamilton and Clay Parnell. In the DJ and electronica corner, Camp Bisco will
boast the first US appearance by Simon Posford’s Hallucinogen: In Dub project,
the Israeli trance band Infected Mushroom, Brazilian electronica pioneer Amon Tobin,
DJ Girl Talk, and the dance-punk group The Juan Maclean, as well as Bassnectar,
Telepath, Psylab, and Orchard Lounge. Sound Tribe Sector 9 will bridge the
festival’s two worlds by offering both a DJ set and a traditional full band
performance. Camp Bisco
will be powered by 100% renewable energy. For more information please visit www.campbisco.net .
