The long-rumored new Black Keys album, Attack & Release, will hit stores on April 1 via Nonesuch Records. Produced by Gorillaz/The Grey Album mastermind Danger Mouse, the Black Keys’ fifth studio album is their first album recorded in a traditional studio. Attack & Release is said to mash the strange bedfellows’ styles, creating a hybrid sound that reins in the Black Keys’ garage-rock sound considerably.  The album also features a guest appearance by New York jazz guitarist Marc Ribot, who has clocked in time with both Medeski, Martin & Wood and Tom Waits. The Black Keys will showcase their new album at SXSW this March and then launch a national tour at Tucson, AZ’s Rialto Theatre on March 27.
