It’s been a shaky few months for Soulive. After seven years
of solid road work, the jazz/funk trio originally planed to take its first hiatus
this fall. The group decided to push back its break after being offered an opening
spot on Aussie sensation The Cat Empire’s fall Australian tour, marking its
first trip down under. But, once again, he group was forced to step off the
road. Guitarist Eric Krasno has been diagnosed with severe tonsillitis and the
group has cancelled its entire fall tour. “I just want to let everyone know
that I'm OK,” Krasno says. “I'm just getting my tonsils removed....I had severe
tonsillitis a few times in the last couple years. It’s a routine surgery, I
just needed time to take care of it and heal. I appreciate the support from
everyone and I can't wait for y'all to hear the new music we're working on it.”
The group is confident that Krasno will recover quickly, however, and has
confirmed a handful of east coast shows leading up a New Year’s Eve performance
with the Greyboy Allstars at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club.
