The reunited Smashing Pumpkins will celebrate its 20th
anniversary with a national tour, a new single and a revealing two-disc DVD. The five-week tour will open at Cleveland’s Palace Theatre on November 1, before
making stops in markets across the country and Canada. Highlights include
multi-night runs in Toronto (11/3-4), New York (11/6-7), Washington
(11/11-12), Boston (11/14-15), Chicago
(11/19, 11/21-22) and Los Angeles
(12/2-3). The group will offer a unique setlist each night of its multi-night
engagement, with no songs being repeated
over the course of the two-night run.
Night #1 is being called “Black Sunshine,” while night #2 will be dubbed
“White Crosses.” A special two-night
ticket bundle will be available for all multi-night engagements.
In addition, Smashing Pumpkins has readied the new single “G.L.O.W.,”
which will be released via the Guitar Hero® World Tour game. The Pumpkins will
also play the song on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel
Live on Friday, October 24. The band will also release the two-disc DVD set
If All Goes Wrong via Coming Home
Media. The concert documentary captures the group’s recent residencies in San Francisco and Asheville,
NC.
Before the anniversary tour’s kick-off, the Pumpkins will
make a return performance at the annual Bridge School benefit hosted by Neil
Young in Shoreline, CA on October 26.
The band last performed at Neil Young’s annual event, which benefits children
with severe speech and physical impairments, in 1999.
