Secret Machines have solidified a semi-permanent lineup . On
his MySpace page, guitarist Philip E Karnats mentions that he recently recorded
with the Secret Machines for their new album and will continue to play with the
group for the foreseeable future. Since the departure of guitarist Benjamin
Curtis, the Secret Machines have remained in essence the duo of Josh Garza and Brandon
Curtis. The group has said that it will likely host a rotating cast of
musicians, but, as of late, has regularly performed with Karnats and Interpol
keyboardist Frederic Alexandre Blasco. Karnats and Benjamin Curtis played with
Polyphonic Spree founder Tim DeLaughter in the alt-rock group Tripping Daisy in
the late 1990s. Secret Machines have no current tour plans, but will likely
release a new album in early 2008.
