Rage Against
the Machine’s reunion tour will roll on this fall. The recently reunited,
politically-charged rock band has confirmed that it will headline the 2007
edition of Las Vegas’
Vegoose festival. The quartet reunited for the first time in seven years for a
performance at Coachella in April and has since confirmed four shows on the
Rock the Bells tour and an appearance at East
Troy, WI’s Alpine Valley
on August 24. The group will also make an appearance at New Orleans’ Voodoo Music Experience on October
27.
Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom
Morello made his Bonnaroo debut this June (as the Nightwatchman) and later sat-in
with festival headliners Tool during their Friday night set. Previous
Vegoose headliners include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews &
Friends, Widespread Panic, Beck, Arcade Fire and the Killers. According to a
local Las Vegas Fox News Station, Dave Matthews Band, Tom Petty and the Killers
will also appear at the festival, though their spots remain unconfirmed.
As
previously reported, Vegoose will return to the Sam Boyd Stadium on October 27
and 28 for the third year in a row. Festival promoters Superfly and AC
Entertainment will also promote a series of late night shows around Las Vegas from October
26-28.
