Capitol/EMI has released the details
regarding Radiohead: The Best Of. The
compilation will be released on June 3 on CD and vinyl, as well as digitally,
collecting highlights from the group’s time on Parlophone and Capitol Records. The
collection will mostly focus on the group’s best known material, including “Just,”
“Paranoid Android,” “Karma Police,” “Creep,” “No Surprises,” “High and Dry,” “My
Iron Lung,” “There There,” “Lucky,” “Optimistic,” “Fake Plastic Trees,” “Idioteque,”
“2+2 = 5,” “The Bends,” “Pyramid Song,” “Street Spirit (Fade Out)” and “Everything
In Its Right Place.” Only five songs on the album are culled from the group’s
final, more experimental three albums on Capitol: Kid A, Amnesiac or Hail To The Thief. Radiohead released its most recent album in
the In Rainbows in the U.S. on XL,
after offering it to fans as a download last fall. The group reportedly had no
involvement in Radiohead: The Best Of’s
song selection.
