Project/Object with Ike Willis will hit
the road for a run of shows this November. The group, which performs the music
of Frank Zappa, will kick off its brief tour on November 14. From there the ensemble
will make stops in Plains, PA (11/15), Annapolis, MD (11/16), New York (11/17),
Troy, NY (11/18), Northampton, MA (11/19), New Haven, CT (11/20), Boston
(11/21) and Philadelphia (11/23). The group will likely add a few additional
dates along the way.
In related news, the Zappa Family Trust recently
released the archival concert CD Joe's
Menage. The album documents a Zappa performance that took place at Williamsburg, VA’s College of William and Mary on November 1, 1975,
where the guitarist was backed by Norma Jean Bell, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Andre, Roy
Estrada and Terry Bozzio. The album first germinated when Zappa gave longtime fan
Ole Lysgaard several cassette tapes, including this one, in 1978. In 2004,
Lysgaard sent the tapes to Gail Zappa and she decided to release the 1975
music, which was restored and mastered by John Polito. The album will be made exclusively
available at Zappa.com.
