Pearl Jam has confirmed a 13 date-European tour slated for this June. The group, which closed out its 2006 touring season with a opening spot for U2 in Hawaii, will perform seven headlining festival dates and six solo shows throughout Europe. The 13-date tour kicks off on June 8 at Lisbon, Portugal’s Passeio Maritimo Alges and includ es dates in Spain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Austria, England, Denmark, Holland and Belgium. According to the band Pearl Jam has no other shows scheduled for 2007.
“Our shows in Europe last fall were incredible and gave us the itch to return as quickly as possible to some of our favorite places, as well as visit some cities we haven’t been to in awhile,” says Pearl Jam manager, Kelly Curtis. “Historically, there have been five years or so between our visits to Europe, so it’s a treat to go back again so soon.”
The group’s European tour will conflict with the 2007 edition of Bonnaroo, squashing rumors that the group would headline the festival this summer. Bonnaroo is scheduled to take place from June 14-17 in Manchester, TN.
