Songstress Patty Griffin has set February 6 as the release date for her next studio album, Children Running Through. Griffin’s fifth album finds the singer/songwriter paired with Spoon’s Mike McCarthy, who enhances her songs with a variety of horns and strings. Shortly after Children Running Through’s release, Griffin will launch a short solo tour, making stops at Chicago, IL’s Schuba's (1/27-28), Boston’s Lizard Lounge (1/30), Charleston, WV’s Mountain Stage (2/4), Philadelphia’s World Café Live (2/9), Los Angeles’ Hotel Café (2/13), and an unannounced Birmingham, AL venue (2/17). Griffin will also perform with a full band at New York, NY’s Angel Orensanz Center on February 6. On May 9, the Atlantic Theater Company will premiere a new musical set to Griffin's music. The play was produced by Tom Hulce and was written by Keith Bunin.
