In the somewhat unexpected news category, Dave Matthews Band saxophonist LeRoi Moore appears on dmbnewsimageNas’ new record, Hip Hop is Dead. The founding member of Dave Matthews Band plays on the new Nas song "Hold Down the Block.” Moore connected with the hip-hop star through Mark Batson, who produced both Hip Hop is Dead and Dave Matthews Band’s 2005 album Stand Up. Batson is currently working with Dave Matthews Band on their seventh proper studio album.

As expected Dave Matthews Band will launch another major tour next summer. Similar to last year the group is asking fans to vote for five possible support acts.  Last year’s campaign helped bands like Umphrey’s McGee and ALO score the coveted support spot.  Dave Matthews will launch a solo European tour February 23.
