With the fortieth anniversary of the Summer of Love looming, in seems only fitting that a tour dubbing itself Hippiefest will make the rounds this year. In fact this is the second installment of the 21 date traveling carnival, which will begin in Toronto, Ontario on July 25. Artists include The Turtles, Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, The Zombies, Mountain, Mitch Ryder, Badfinger, Denny Laine, Country Joe McDonald. The tour will make stops in Brooklyn, NY (7/26), Wallingford, CT (7/27), Vernon, NY (7/28), Farmingville, NY (7/29),Vienna, VA (7/30), Hollywood, FL (8/2), Atlanta, GA (8/3), Wichita, KS (8/4), Grand Prairie, TX (8/5), Cape Cod, MA (8/7), Cohasset, MA (8/8), Philadelphia, PA (8/9), Champion, PA (8/10) Liberty, NY (8/11), Gilford, NH (8/12), Temecula, CA (8/16), Lemoore, CA (8/17),Phoenix, AZ (8/18), Saratoga, CA (8/20) and San Diego, CA (8/21). Of particular note is the group’s August 11 stop on the site of the original Woodstock, days before the famed festival’s anniversary.
