On Tuesday we reported that Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello performed onstage with Dave Matthews Band on two separate occasions over Memorial Day weekend. Apparently the collaboration clicked and, last night, Morello played with Dave Matthews Band a third time at London’s Wembley Arena. Unlike his previous appearances, which found the rap-metal guitarist playing acoustic on selections like “#41,””American Baby Intro” and “Satellite,” fans who attended the Wembley Arena show were treated to a fully electric collaboration. After opening the evening under his singer/songwriter alias, The Nightwatchman, Morello picked up his electric guitar for runs through “#41” and “Satellite.” While Morello and Matthews seem like strange bedfellows, the two are both politically active musicians who cite Neil Young and Bob Dylan as influences. Morello will also support his new Nightwatchman album, One Man Revolution, at a number of jam-friendly festivals, including Wakarusa and Bonnaroo.

Dave Matthews Band is off the road for a few weeks before appearing at New Jersey’s Live Earth event. Morello will appear at Cologne, Germany’s Prime Club tonight.
