Modest Mouse Declares 'We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank' Print E-mail

Modest Mouse will release its first album since 2005’s breakthrough, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, on March 20. Titled We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank's  the 14-track disc is also the group’s first album since adding former guitarist Johnny Marr to its lineup. Marr is best known for his work in the smodestmouseeminal indie-rock group the Smiths.

 

 

A number of the We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank’s tracks will be familiar to fans who saw the group on its brief tour last fall, including its single "Dashboard.” Other tracks include "March Into the Sea," "Fire It Up, " "Florida," "Parting of the Sensory," "Missed the Boat," "We've Got Everything,""Fly Trapped in a Jar," "Education," "Little Motel," "Steam Engenius,” "Spitting Venom," "People As Places As People," and "Invisible." As of press time Modest Mouse has no scheduled dates, though the group is expected to tour the west coast this spring and be a presence on the festival circuit this summer.
