KVHW members Steve Kimock, Bobby Vega and Ray White will
reunite for a series of performances with Stephen Perkins’ Banyan later this
month. From December 21-23, the all-star version of Perkins’ rotating group
will perform at Denver’s
Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.
In addition, this incarnation of Banyan will feature trumpeter Willie Waldman. KVHW
grew out of the seminal Bay Area-band Zero in 1998, featuring Kimock, Vegas,
White and Alan Hertz. Though Perkins found fame in Jane’s Addiction, in recent
years the drummer has explored his latent jam-rock roots. Since hooking up at a
Jammys pre-party last April, Perkins and Kimock have collaborated in a number
of settings, including the Rhythm Devils and an all-star group at the 10,000
Lakes festival. Perkins
