Jethro Tull will celebrate its 40th anniversary by reissuing a re-mastered and remixed two-CD set edition of This Was, the group’s 1968 debut. The CDwill include a re-mastered version of ThisWas’ original mono mix, as well as a new stereo mix. It will also containsome BBC recordings from that time period. Ian Anderson and the currentincarnation of Jethro Tull will also travel to the U.S. for a two-week run ofshows, including some dates with fellow ‘70s-rocker Peter Frampton. Accordingto a statement from Anderson,“The set-list will be chosen mainly from the first three albums with a few bitsand pieces from a little later. Songs and tunes which defined the early Jethro Tullfrom blues band to eclectic, pre-prog inventiveness." As of press time, Jethro Tull’s U.S. dates include stops in Bethlehem,PA (8/7), Philadelphia (8/8), Wantagh, NY (8/9), Uncasville, CT (8/10), Morrison,CO (8/12), Valley Center, CA (8/14), Indio, CA (8/16) and Los Angeles (8/17). Anderson formed Jethro Tull in Blackpool and Luton, Englandas a quartet circa 1967. The group’s current lineup includes Anderson, MartinBarre, David Goodier, James Duncan and John O'Hara.
