Over the past year Jerry Joseph (Little Women, Stockholm Syndrome) has found himself performing in multiple contexts, whether it be as a solo or duo act or even as a member of Zero. Next week he will return to the stage with the Jackmormons, the band that has been his primary focus over the past few years. However, rather than mark the New Year with a series of shows in the United States, Joseph and his group will travel to Costa Rica. This version of the Jackmormons will be a quintet, as Joseph also has enlisted Steve James (guitars, bass, vocals), Brad Rosen (drums, vocals), Steve Drizos (percussion) and Lewi Longmire (bass, guitars, vocals). The group will perform electric sets at Mango Real in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica on December 30 and 31. Then, after a day of rest on New Year’s Day, an acoustic version of the group will hit the stage on January 2. Both of the Jackmormons’ Steves also back Joseph on his latest release, April Nineteenth. The disc, recorded this summer in Portland, Orgeon, draws on both older material and new compositions, with guest appearances from Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists), David Lipkind (I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch In The House), Little Sue, Jim Brunberg and others.
