Grace Potter and The Nocturnals will release their third album, and first since signing a major label deal with Hollywood Records, on August 7. Titled This is Somewhere, the disc was co-produced by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and former Whiskeytown guitarist Mike Daly. The disc was mastered by Michael Brauer, whose credits include Coldplay, Bob Dylan, and My Morning Jacket. Potter’s previous studio release, Nothing But the Water, helped the roots-rock vocalist score the New Groove Award at the 2006 Jammys and festival spots ranging from High Sierra to Bonnaroo. The Nocturnals also made numerous appearances at both the 2006 and 2007 Green Apple Music & Arts Festivals. In addition to Potter, The Nocturnals features the longtime trio of guitarist Scott Tournet, bassist Bryan Dondero and drummer Matt Burr.
The quartet is currently touring the West Coast and will appear at West Hollywood, CA’s Troubadour tomorrow. Potter will officially celebrate This is Somewhere’s release with a hometown performance at Burlington, VT’s Waterfront Park on August 19. Before then, Potter’s next single, “Ah Mary,” will hit the radio. Readers can download the song by simply clicking right here . For more information please visit www.gracepotter.com
