Gillian Welch and David Rawlings recently founded Acony Records. In addition to releasing their efforts, the new label also will issue the work of select artists as well. Acony's first signing is The Whispertown 2000. The Los Angeles-based quartet features the songwriting of  Morgan Nagler, who Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) describes as "my favorite songwriter.  Period." The Whispertown 2000's Swim was produced by Tom Monohan (Devendra Banhart, Vetiver) and is set for an October 21 release.
